My Story

There are several reasons why Buyers and Sellers consider hiring a Realtor.  First is knowledge and experience of the area and in the current market.  It would be advantageous to have assistance in the sales process, from showings to negotiating the offer to closing the escrow.  A knowledgeable agent will save you valuable time and money.


Jana J. Troute is a long-time resident of Hawaii, having first come to the island of Molokai in 1972 "on vacation." Like many, she fell in love with the islands' beauty and people and made Hawaii her home.  In 1980 Jana moved to Kona and has been there ever since.  She obtained her Real Estate license in 1985 and then her Broker's license in 1991.  Jana has the knowledge and experience you are looking for, with hundreds of successful sales over her career.  She is a valuable asset to assist the Buyer and Seller in all aspects of buying and selling real estate.  Her network of service providers has her clients calling her for years to come asking for names of reputable tradesmen, property managers, and sometimes very unusual requests for help.  She always tells her clients never to hesitate to call her for assistance with any of their needs, real estate or otherwise.  Jana is their “Realtor for Life”, and so many have become very good friends.


Her commitment to Continued Education, including topical seminars, keeps her at the forefront of her industry's ever-changing marketing trends.  Assisting people in one of their most significant financial purchases brings responsibility and gratification.  Being a Realtor quickly became a satisfying career choice.


Managing a real estate office was a natural progression in her career path.  Starting in 1996, she has managed several offices from the Mauna Lani Resort to Kailua-Kona.  In 2004 she was given the opportunity to be the Sales Director for an 86-unit luxury condominium project called Na Hale O Keauhou and continues a bi-monthly Newsletter sent to the homeowners and interested buyers with continued annual re-sales in the project.  It sold out quickly, and she then opened and managed two dynamic Clark Realty offices at the Mauna Lani Resort.


Over the past several years, everyone was presented with health and career decisions with the onset of COVID-19.  Several opportunities presented themselves to Jana.  What has been her best career decision to date is opening her own company, Kona Pacific Realty, LLC, in 2020.


Giving back to her industry, she has served as President of the Kona Board of Realtors, Vice-President of the Hawaii Association of Realtors, and Vice-President of MLS Hawaii, Inc., aka Hawaii Information Services.  In recognition of her services, she's received the Kona Board of Realtor's "Realtor of the Year" and the Hawaii Island Board's "Special Recognition" award.
